EDM and Wire Department

Plan jobs and setup to maximize unattended
runtime amount of machining in operation.
Machine with efficiency & precision.
Review, plan, & communicate when job issues
are found.
Request materials/tooling needs to project
manager in advance.
Inspect work performed.
Make minor machine repairs &
communicate larger issues to project manager.
Clean/organize work area, dismount and put
away electrodes, monitor wire resin level and empty wire bin as needed and
chillers for EDM filters and coolants, and EDM filters.
Complete time card daily prior to
departure.
Visually inspect electrode for
correctness, proper clearance and poor finishes.
Communicate and plan jobs with second
shift on long running jobs to maximize productivity.

Perform set-up of workpiece and indicate
to set work coordinates.
Review program with programmer and load
program for operation.
Set tools into holders and set heights for
operations.
Manually program drilling, tapping,
milling of 2D pockets, etc… using M and G codes, and/or edit programs.
Inspect work performed.
Knowledge of using basic measuring tools.
Sharpen drills and tooling when time
permits.
Clean/organize work area.
Complete time card daily prior to
departure.
Communicate and plan jobs with second
shift on long running jobs to maximize productivity.
